Thanks for the link to not only this great story but a couple of other free ones by the same author. I thought there were some cool science fiction ideas incorporated into this story: 1) the weeviltech worms in their stomachs that allowed them to eat anything and get nutritional value from it, and 2) how it starts out as an action packed military science fiction story only to transform into somewhat of a "feel-good" and "be nice to animals" story. Interesting. Anyway, I wrote up my own thoughts about it on my blog if you're interested. Another great find - I look forward to reading more short stories from this author.

Sure, no problem. Part of the reason to post 'em rather than just make a list for me.

This story is high quality, and Bacigalupi is very talented. All his stuff is worth reading, so far.
